Brand and product design for a jobs platform
Rework sits in the crowded jobs / freelance space. We built the brand identity and product design that lets it stand apart from the categorical template.

Starting point
Jobs platforms all do the same thing visually — blue palette, friendly photography, big search bar. Rework wanted to differentiate itself in a category where that's hard.
Jobs platforms compete in one of the hardest categories for visual differentiation. The temptation is to soften everything into a friendly default; the better move is to commit to a stance.
Decisions
- Identity with a clear point of view, not a softened generic.
- Product design that reduces noise — fewer surfaces, more focus on the actual interaction.
- Design system that the product team can extend.
- Reduced surface area in the product — fewer features, better resolution on the ones that matter.
Execution
Delivered as a working Figma system with documented principles. Product flows redesigned around the core search-and-apply path.
The design system delivered as a working Figma library, not as a static brand book. The product team extends it without our involvement.
“Jobs platforms compete in a category exhausted by friendly defaults. The only way to stand out is to commit to a stance.”
— Elvin Sharifov
Result
- An identity that doesn't look like every other jobs platform.
- Product flows tightened around what users actually do.
- Design system the team uses to extend the product.
- Activation rate up — the simpler product surfaces convert better than the cluttered version.
