E-learning is a category dominated by templates that all feel like the same product. Allearn wanted to stand out — without sliding into novelty UI that gets in the way of learning.
E-learning platforms collapse in two predictable ways: either the lesson interface is buried under marketing chrome, or the marketing is so spartan that nobody signs up. We wanted neither.
Decisions
- The course is the product, not the marketing site around it — interface designed for the lesson view first.
- Assessment engine flexible enough for different question types, modelled in the data layer, not bolted on.
- Certificates generated server-side with stable URLs the student can share.
- Native mobile app for offline lesson viewing.
- Progress tracking visible to the student — the platform shows where they are, not just where they've been.
Execution
Backend optimised for video delivery and assessment scoring. Mobile app handles offline lessons with sync when network returns.
Video delivery is tuned for the bandwidth realities of the audience — adaptive streams, offline downloads on mobile, sane resume behaviour after a dropped connection.
